We need you, Lord.
Like lost wanderers in a burning, empty desert

thirst for cool, clean water,

we long for you to quench us.

In a world gone progressively mad,

with chaos all around us,

we seek refuge in the order and purpose of

your law.

With evil sneaking, leaking everywhere,

spreading heavy darkness,

creating feelings of emptiness,

we hunger for your goodness and light.

Turn us around, Lord, we pray;

retrieve your sheep who have gone astray.

Draw us to the satisfaction

of your purity and,

Cleanse us, and make us more like you,

role models, examples, beacons,

for others who are searching for meaning

for their lives.

Come, Lord Jesus.

We need you, Lord.

fORgiVe mE God.

what I want to do,

I don’t do enough of,

and what I don’t want to do,

I do too much of.

I know your way,

according to the Bible,

and I’m trying; I really am, but…

heaven and eternity seem so far away,

and the rampantly materialistic world

presses in so close

from every direction, every side,

that I get distracted.

Focus, focus, focus!

I need to focus, laser-like

on a simple, God-centered life.

Do I really need

to make that frivolous purchase,

instead of giving the money

to someone who needs it

so much more than I do?

Can I watch that video or that TV show,

read that book, listen to that song

that contains (and promotes!)

even a little bit

of what the Bible forbids,

without being corrupted?

Do I do enough

to love and help and encourage others?

Pride always hovers,

eagerly waiting

to subdue and conquer humility,

so I think too much of myself.

Although I know your way;

your word makes everything clear.

Forgive me, Lord;

and help me Lord.

mY RoCk My DefENce

 I will not be shaken,

 Nothing will take me away….

not even my own death

will take me, Lord from Thee.

I will not tremble,

I have nothing to fear

for, when I’m all alone

God is always near.

I will not waiver,

on my Rock, I will stand

whenever troubles come

His grace is ever at hand.

I will not be moved, but in His love and word I will abide.

nothing can take away

the love I have for Jesus

from Him, I will not stray.

I will not be shaken,

nothing will take from me

the peace, faith and hope

I have dear Lord, in Thee.

In Thee, I will forever abide.

               Psalm 62:1-2

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God:

from him cometh my salvation.

“He only is my rock and my salvation;

he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.”

Oh, to know the love of God,

and the peace that it brings

is to understand the grace

of what a dying Savior brings.
Oh, to know the love of God,

that forgives us of our sin

is to understand the mercy

that flows from deep within.
Oh, to know the love of God,

and the promise of eternal life

is to understand the compassion

it took to end mankind’s strife.
Oh, to know the love of God,

that heals, restores and renews

is to understand the promises

flowing through the Good News.
Oh, to know the love of God,

that one cannot earn or buy

is to come understand

why Jesus . . . had to die!

               John 3:16

“For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him

should not perish,

but have everlasting life.”

You picked me up when I

struggled to get through.

You healed my heart when it was

thrown and shattered.

You gave me hope when it

seemed so out of reach.

You filled me with peace when

chaos flowed through my veins.

You showed me the light when

there was only darkness.

You gave me comfort when my

voice cried out in pain.

You reassured me when the

doubts screamed in my head.

You kept me going when there

seemed nowhere to go.

You sustained me with strength

when weakness became all I knew.

You came and stayed when

everyone else turned around and left.

You gave me a purpose when life

seemed so pointless.

You restored my happiness when

life seemed to snatch it away.

You filled this emptiness when

the void echoed with loneliness.

You helped me let it all go when

I gripped the tightest to hold on.

You showed me the beauty of

life when the world showed me nothing

but hate and corruption.

You gave me a better life when

the old one fought to come back.

Because I am nothing without you nothing

but a hopeless being.

Because only You could tear down my

wall of pride, and instead build it back up

with love and humbleness.

Because of all this, I give you my life

I will put all my fears and failures in Your

hands, my worries that consume me, my

pain that destroys me.

You were always there, even when I

rejected You.

Because of all You are, my life, oh God, is

Lord, may the root of grace,

dig deeper into our soul

may it work its way through

until it takes control.

Let it feed upon,

the fertile soil of Your Word

let it flourish and thrive

on the truth that it’s heard.

Let it be firmly established,

so it can bear good fruit

let it increase and grow

until mercy too, takes root.

Let it ooze from our heart,

like sap from a tree

just as it did that day . . .

when You died for us.

Lord, may the root of grace,

dig deeper into our life . . .

may it prosper in the good times

and prevail when there is strife!

          2 Peter 3:18

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge

of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.”

You make our day,

our life, You light

You make everything

look gloriously bright.

When it is gloomy,

You send rays of hope

when things are dark

You give us faith to cope.

You make our day,

our heart, You uplift

You give us strength

when to You we submit.

Whether it be a storm,

or waters running still

You help us to see

it is all, in Your will.

You make our day,

our soul, You raise

tis why our Lord . . .

You have our praise!

You have our gratitude!

      Psalm 146:1- 2

“Praise ye the Lord.

Praise the Lord, O my soul.

While I live will I praise

the Lord: I will sing praises

unto my God while I have

any being.”

Throughout my life,

I have found a  place

where I can escape . . .

Where I will no more be under THE LAW.

from the rat race.

It’s a perfect spot,

to let it all go . . .

a space to unwind

so peace can flow.

It’s not very far,

it’s easy to get to

shutting my eyes . . .

is all I have to do.

In my mind I envision,

till my heart can see

my Lord and Savior

right here, next to me.

Before too long,

His presence is real

and His calmness

I begin to feel.

Throughout my life,

I have found a place

where I can escape . . .

into the arms of grace!

           Matthew 11:28

                 [ KJV ]

“Come unto me, all ye that labour

and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest

For all You’ve done

for the gift of salvation

through Your beloved Son.

For the grace,

You knew we’d need

For Your Spirit

who’s here to lead.

Thank You God,

for Your mercy tender

for being our soul

and heart mender.

For Your love,

which brings us peace

for Your compassion

that does not cease.

Thank You God,

for all You are doing

that our life to You . . .

was worth pursuing!

      Psalm 118:1

“O give thanks unto the Lord;

for he is good: because his mercy

endureth for ever.”
